Every girl who tries out is evaluated and placed — on a competitive team or in the skills class that gets her ready for one. Coming to the September 8 camp first is a good way to meet our coaches before tryout night, but it is not required.
From tryout night to the first practice
Step 1
Reserve your spot online. Walk-ups are welcome, but registering early helps us plan groups.
Step 2
Two hours at Corner Canyon High School. Coaches run drills and small-sided games and evaluate every girl.
Step 3
We reach out within a few days with the team or class that fits your daughter.
Step 4
Join practices with your team and get to work.

Tryouts are open to girls in grades 3–8. No club experience is required — girls come to us from rec leagues, from school teams, and from never having been coached at all. Every girl who tries out is evaluated and placed.
Two hours at Corner Canyon High School, 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Coaches run skill work and small-sided games so they see how each girl actually competes, not just how she drills. Parents are welcome to stay in the gym and watch.
The tryout is $25 per player. If your daughter is offered a roster spot, base monthly dues are $215, which covers two team practices per week, two skills training sessions, and online development content. League fees and jerseys are separate.
Within a few days of tryout night. We’ll reach out with the team or class we think fits, and you decide from there.
No girl leaves without a next step. If the team at her level is full, or if more skill work will get her ready first, we’ll invite her into our skills training classes. Many players start there and join a team within a few months.
Tryouts are at Corner Canyon High School, but the season itself is at Sports City in Draper — that’s where team practices and skills training are held. Exact days and times come with your roster invite.
Basketball shoes with non-marking soles, athletic clothes, and a water bottle. We provide the balls and everything else.
Come to our camp the Tuesday before, September 8, at the same gym — coaches see your daughter there and can tell you where she fits. If neither night works, email support@unitedaa.org and we’ll find a time.
No. Canyon is not a school program. It is not sponsored by, endorsed by, or operated by any school or school district.
No. Participation in Canyon is not required to play for any school team. School teams are selected at school tryouts, by the school, under the school’s own rules — and Canyon has no role in that process.
Yes. Any school facility used by Canyon, including Corner Canyon High School, is rented under a standard facility-use agreement.
Canyon is a bantam program for players in the Corner Canyon High School boundaries.
